One day,Bay wanted to make a new movie to introduce The Matrix of Leadership for his next Transformers sequel.(I'm going somewhere with this so bear with me)He made ROTF,but turns out to be an utterly shitty Transformers sequel just to introduce the Matrix of Leadership.Bay might have realize this sooner than we thought,so he made a new transformers sequel and utilize the Matrix in order to revive Sentinel and made a great Transformers movie.ROTF is known as a movie where the director wants to get it done for the sake of getting it done.
This episode suffer that same problem.
It's clear that Hiyori gonna join the group too since the OP has been spoiling it and by the next episode we'll see her apologizing to Manabe or Kotoura for what she had done,so it depends on how the writer should bring the audience from point A to point B.So starting from point A,Hiyori wants to take revenge on Manabe probably because of what he had done to her at the previous episode or she just hates him for always treating her nothing but a generic childhood friend character so she wants to tease him back a little,ok though I doubt it.The obvious and logical reason why she wants to take her revenge is because she's jealous of Kotoura for being so close to Manabe. Here's the problem, why did she chose Manabe instead of Kotoura?Let me explain rule number 1 of taking revenge which is to mentally or physically hurt the source of your problem which Manabe is NOT.This can be also described as the writer just wants the audience to from point to point B and totally ignore what they did wrong at point A and pretty much left forgotten or nailed it ron our face for the rest of this season.
There are a lot of anime that suffer this particular problem where the writer just wants it done for the sake of getting it done, but for gawd sake they already have a good Minami-ke(Season 1) Director in that show.of course asking the thugs to hurt a little girl will be even weirder. How I think they should have done is showing Hiyori taking the picture of Kotoura but mistook a picture of Manabe instead, that would have been logical....I guess I naged too much about this than I should've,I know why they did it but I'm still not too fond of how they deliver it at that particular part. All I'm saying is they could have done better.
Anyway overall, there's not much about this episode,It was more happy happy joy joy than usual.Karaoke fun time where Kotoura singing was legitimately horrible to hear and the Kotoura first bentou to Manabe was pretty funny and very light novelish ending.Though I am very interested in how Manabe fight the 4 thugs back,They just left it there and shown those 4 thugs returning with bruises all around them.Manabe seems to be good in martial art or some sort.Besides those, there's not much about it.2/5
